About the Project

Polished versions of rough ideas!

First Take Co. exists to help multi-disciplinary artists explore the emerging facets of their creativity in a professional, supportive environment. We believe there’s joy and learning in all steps of the making process, and invest in artists unafraid to embrace the unknown.

This year, three members of our Resident Artists are offering early glimpses into work that they will continue to develop, either with our team or in personal practice. A devised piece rooted in nostalgia; a haunting musical exploration of storytelling and Appalachian sounds; and a nightclub turned social sparring ground culminate in an evening of virtuosic performers navigating their dizzying array of interests.

<aside> 💡 A note on casting: We will be casting actors in rep in one to three pieces, based on their availability and fit within each piece. Even if an actor is not required within the narrative of a piece, they may have some involvement in each work as an ensemble member to facilitate the storytelling. This is a highly collaborative making process!
